At just 18 years old, Daria Atamanov secured her place in the final of the complete individual rhythmic gymnastics competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The Israeli gymnast guaranteed a place in the final by placing seventh in the overall classification with a combined score of 130.450 points. She especially stood out with her ribbon routine, performed to the song Shir Lamaalot by Gad Elbaz.
Throughout his career, Atamanov won medals in gold and silver at the 2022 Gymnastics World Cup, and after an injury that kept her out of competition for ten months, in 2023 she again won a bronze medal in the general competition.
After the general competition, Atamanov expressed in dialogue with local media that she was “really moved, my emotions have been everywhere all day” and added that “she tried to give her all in each routine. Now I am focused on tomorrow and I hope to do much better than today.”
So far, Israel has achieved an all-time record at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with six medals won.
