Contrary to the global trend, birth rates are rising in Israel.

According to Israel's official birth statistics for 2024, despite conflicts and economic challenges, the country has seen an increase in its birth rate, with 134.000 births annually, up from 131,000 in 2023.

This growth, driven primarily by Jewish families, contrasts with trends in the West, where the birth rate continues to decline, amid a complex national context marked by war, military reserves, economic crisis, and political instability.

However, these factors have not curbed many families' desire to have children. In fact, experts suggest that the country's complex reality has strengthened their decision to bring new children into the world.

Historically, post-war periods have been marked by so-called baby booms, and although the conflict in Israel is not yet over, this phenomenon is already beginning to manifest itself.

Israel not only surpasses Western nations in birth rates, but also many non-Western nations. While in Iran and Turkey the fertility rate is 1.7 and 1.9 children per woman, respectively, in Israel the average is close to three children per family.
