With a fund to be administered by the JFC-UIA organization, a total of $20 million will be invested in educational development in northern Israel, with a special focus on the Galilee region. This will include transforming Tel-Hai College into a university, consolidating it as a key educational center in the area. The remaining funds will support non-formal education programs.

While some communities have historically supported the northern region, others have prioritized southern Israel in their contributions. This effort marks a significant shift in strengthening education in the north, a key area for the country's future.

Sarah Mali, JFC-UIA's director in Israel, emphasized that "this is the first time we've had our coalition of communities donate specifically to northern Israel. Until now, the majority of the funds have been allocated to the south of the country."

He added that "in times of crisis, immediate aid is crucial, but we must also think about long-term development. For example, at the beginning of the war, many people donated excess food, and much of it was wasted. It is essential to direct funds to initiatives that generate sustained growth, such as education."
