With one month to go before the war in Gaza reaches its first year, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, regretted this Tuesday that there is "no positive outlook in sight" mainly due to the "intransigence" and "total impunity" of the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In Cairo, from where he has started his new tour of the Middle East, The Spanish diplomat hardened his speech against the Government of Israel, which he accused of putting obstacles in the way of agreeing a truce in the Gaza Strip. and further tense the situation not only in the Palestinian enclave, but in the entire region.

At a press conference with the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr AbdelatyBorrell recalled that the European Union (EU) has given "full support" to the mediation efforts of Egypt, Qatar and the United States to implement a ceasefire, a concept repeated like a mantra in recent months that, however, has not materialized.

«Why? Very simple: because those who are waging a war have no interest in ending it. That is why they are pretending. Less and less, because their intransigence is accompanied by total impunity and their actions have no consequences."Borrell said, referring directly to Netanyahu's government.

Borrell reportedly denounced that “flagrant violations of international law continue to be ignored” by Israel, while questioning how accountability will be provided.

The diplomat said that the EU will not hesitate to support a ceasefire, which must be accompanied by a "political solution" to the historic conflict, the release of the hostages held by the Hamas group and guaranteeing the necessary humanitarian support to the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

In this regard, he indicated that "a process must be put in place" to implement the two-state solution., as well as "seeing what kind of pressure to exert on those who do not want this solution," he said in reference to the Netanyahu government.

Differentiating between the Government of Israel and the Israelis

Borrell then addressed the foreign ministers of the Arab League, made up of 22 member states, who held a meeting at the organization's headquarters in Cairo focused on the humanitarian situation in Gaza and which was also attended by the head of Turkish diplomacy, Hakan Fidan.

In his speech, the Spaniard once again attacked the Netanyahu government and He regretted that there are "radical" members in his cabinet who "try to make impossible" the creation of a Palestinian State.

"Not only is there no pause in the war in Gaza, but what is looming on the horizon is the extension of the conflict to the West Bank, where radical members of the Israeli government, the Netanyahu government, are trying to make the creation of a future Palestinian state impossible," he said.

However, he called for a distinction to be made between the Israeli government and Israeli society, which is "deeply divided and traumatised" following the Hamas attacks on 7 October, which led to the Gaza war.

"Ostracism from Israeli society serves no purpose other than to reinforce the Masada complex, which is in fact the goal pursued by extremists.", Borrell said, referring to the concept used to describe the mentality that the whole world is against the Jewish people, a concept criticized as anti-Semitic by Jewish groups.

After finishing his meetings in Cairo, the Spaniard will head to Lebanon, the scene of growing tensions between the Hezbollah group and Israel.

I was born Jewish to the hilt
I like to tell the truth
I am a stone that does not smooth out no matter how much you carve and carve
    I'm stubborn as a mule
Where are you going that I can't find you?
    I'm not a gold coin
    To be liked by everyone
They don't want me in your house because I spent time fighting for Israel
    And I don’t have a time limit…
I'm not a gold coin to be liked by everyone
This is how I was born and this is how I am
If you do not like it
    No way around it…

May God bless, protect, strengthen and give wisdom to Israel and Mexico always...!!!

  2. How easy it is to criticize Israel when you don't know where the shoe pinches. Israel was attacked, Israeli citizens were taken hostage, and there are still those who say that Israel is guilty. They are obviously enemies of Israel.

  3. MR. JOSEP BORREL WHY DON'T YOU CRITICISE THE TERRORIST AYATOLLAHAS? EVERYTHING THAT IS HAPPENING IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND WITH ISLAMIC TERRORISM IS THEIR FAULT. IF YOU PUT THE TERRORIST AYATOLLAHAS ON THE TERRORISM LIST, IT WOULD NOT HAPPE IN ISRAEL OR IN EUROPE OR IN ANY COUNTRY.

  4. MR. JOSEP BORREL, WHEN THE WAR BETWEEN THE LEGITIMATE STATE OF ISRAEL AND THE REVOLUTION OF THE IRANIAN PEOPLE ENDS, DO YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE INTERNATIONAL COURT IN THE HAGUE TO EXPLAIN WHAT YOU HAVE DONE. LONG LIVE THE IRANIAN PEOPLE AND ISRAEL.
