The United States Secretary of State, Antony blinken, will travel to Egypt to discuss the status of negotiations between Israel and the Islamic terrorist group Hamas on the release of hostages and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, his office said.

The head of US diplomacy will be in the Arab country from today, Tuesday, to Thursday, where he will participate in the Strategic Dialogue between the United States and Egypt together with the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty.

In addition, Blinken "will meet with Egyptian officials to discuss ongoing efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza that ensures the release of all hostages, alleviates the suffering of the Palestinian people, and advances regional security," said State Department spokesman Matthew Miller.

Egypt and Qatar are the main mediators between Israel and Hamas, who are negotiating the proposal for the release of hostages and a ceasefire announced last May by US President Joe Biden.

The Palestinian Islamic terrorist group insists that a truce agreement must include an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, especially the Philadelphia corridor, which runs along the border between the Strip and Egypt and where the Rafah land crossing is located.

For his part, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insists on keeping Israeli troops in the Philadelphia corridor, something he considers essential for the country's security.

That corridor has been under the guard of Israeli troops since May, when they entered the town of Rafah and took control of the Gazan side of the border crossing with Egypt, a country that also rejects the Israeli presence on the dividing line. Aurora and EFE

  1. Blinken is another dreamer. The murderous Hamas terrorists will never return the hostages. The US government and the Israelis must understand that the terrorists will not let go of what they have already proven to divide the people of Israel. This way, they will consider themselves to be winning the war even if only one of them remains.

  2. Blinken really wants to go on vacation… And all thanks to us American taxpayers…
How much time has been wasted… And all to get votes… to please the Muslim community…
Most of the Jewish community, whose brains are virgin fields (empty to be clear) are already with him… but it will not be enough for them because almost all the American people are with Trump because they are convinced that the former president is the solution to all the problems…
