Palestinian nationalist Fatah leader and convicted terrorist Marwan Barghouti will not be released if a deal is reached with Hamas on the release of hostages and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, a government source familiar with the talks said.

"Barghouti will not be released if a hostage deal is reached," the source added.

The iNews24 news channel reported that Barghouti's family had travelled to Qatar on Friday to discuss his possible release, as part of the agreement with the Islamic terrorist organisation Hamas for the exchange of Israeli hostages for imprisoned Palestinian terrorists and the ceasefire in Gaza.

Barghouti, 67, jailed by Israel in 2002, is serving a sentence of five life terms plus 2000 years in prison for organizing deadly terror attacks against Israeli civilians during the Second Intifada in the early XNUMXs.

In 2004, Barghouti was tried and found guilty of planning three terrorist attacks in which five Israelis were killed.

  1. Why don't these people get the death penalty? Why feed them and take care of them for the rest of their lives?
Accused terrorists should certainly not last more than a couple of weeks in Israeli jails.
Why are the captured survivors of October 7 still alive in prison?
Israel will be blamed no matter what it does, unless it resolves this problem once and for all.
