Israel's Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara late on Thursday called in a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to consider dismissing National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir for his "repeated intervention in police matters" and for "politicizing" promotions within the force.
The ultra-conservative minister called the request an “attempted coup” and called for the prosecutor to be removed from office.
In the letter, Barahav-Miara warns Netanyahu that they suspect Ben Gvir has repeatedly ignored Supreme Court decisions calling on him to not intervene in police operational matters.
“It appears that the Minister is using his authority to make appointments and terminate the tenure of officers in a manner that constitutes an illegitimate intervention in the operational functioning of the police,” Baharav-Miara wrote.
The prosecutor mentions acts carried out by Ben Gvir, such as, Their regular presence in police operations rooms to ensure that their directives are followed during anti-government protests called every weekend in different parts of the country to request a truce agreement with Hamas.
Baharav-Miara also includes a letter from former police commissioner Kobi Shabtai in which he denounced orders from Ben Gvir directed to senior police officials asking them to ignored cabinet orders regarding the protection of trucks carrying humanitarian aid heading towards the Gaza Strip.
For the prosecutors, these actions by Ben Gvir reflect “a pattern of behavior that disregards the law, violates the law, and harms the fundamental principles of the Government.”
In the letter, he asks the Israeli president to address these issues and for Ben Gvir to respond to these accusations.

She should go to jail for being a coup plotter
Attacking Ben Gvir is one of the leftist policies of Israel's Attorney General, Gali Baharav-Miara, the main coup member of the ultra-politicized organization nominated as a "political party", the Supreme Court of Justice of Israel, for its spurious and seditious self-elected members and declared enemies of the government of Natanyahu and his political partners who make up the legitimate government that was elected by the Jewish majority of the People of Israel!!!!
The vile and miserable Gali Baharav-Miara must be publicly repudiated for her wicked, perfidious and perverse actions, biased and tendentious, and her fierce and virulent hatred towards Natanyahu, Ben Gvir and other members of the Israeli right !!!!!
OUT, OUT, OUT!!!!!
AM ISRAEL JAI!!!
ISRAEL JAI!!!
The big truth is that Ben Gvir is too radical; I don't think he serves the interests of any government in Israel. If he did what the prosecutor says, then it seems he has committed a crime that must be investigated. The PM should not have any more ballast in his cabinet.
BLESSED GLORY TO MR. BEN GVIR, HE IS THE LOVE OF ISRAEL. YOU WILL SEE WHAT CLEANING HE WILL DO IN THE NOBILITY OF ISRAEL. YOU CANNOT IMAGINE THAT EVEN THE IRANIAN PEOPLE, ANTI THE TERRORIST AYATOLLAHAS, ADMIRE HIM. LONG LIVE ISRAEL UNTIL ETERNITY ❤️❤️❤️❤️
