At least sixteen people were slightly injured when a missile launched by Yemen's Houthi terrorists, allies of Iran, landed in Tel Aviv in a public park near a residential complex, medical sources reported early Saturday.

“We searched the apartments, treated and evacuated 16 people with minor injuries from the scene, including a 3-year-old girl, and also treated people suffering from anxiety,” Noam Weisbuch, a paramedic with the Magen David Adom emergency service, said in a statement.

The rescue team said it treated 14 other people who suffered minor injuries while heading to bomb shelters; the injured were taken to Wolfson Hospital in Holon and Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.

Alerts were raised across central Israel at 3:48 a.m., and a projectile fired from Yemen, claimed by Houthi rebels, struck the residential area of Jaffa in southern Tel Aviv, damaging a playground and nearby buildings.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), for its part, confirmed that attempts to intercept the missile failed.

"Following the alerts that were recently activated in the centre of the country, a launch coming from Yemen was detected. Unsuccessful attempts were made to intercept it, and one impact was detected in the area," said a statement issued by the military.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said in a televised statement that his units targeted “a military target of the Israeli enemy in the occupied area of Yafa (Tel Aviv) with a hypersonic ballistic missile, type 'Palestine 2'.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Houthi militants on Thursday that they will “learn the hard way” the consequences of attacking the country, following Israeli strikes against energy infrastructure and ports.

Yemen's Houthis have launched more than 200 missiles and at least 170 drones at Israel over the past year, in operations that began after the start of Israel's current war in Gaza in October 2023, triggered by an attack by the Islamic terrorist group Hamas on Israeli territory.

Since the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip, more than 14 months ago, the Houthis, part of the so-called 'Axis of Resistance' allied with Iran and against the US and Israel, have launched drones and missiles towards Israeli territory, most of which have been intercepted, and against ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. 1. I think the responses have been very lukewarm and if things continue like this, these terrorists will attack more civilian homes. They are murderers and liars. We must send them back to the Stone Age.

  2. Strength, Israel, in the defense of your people and your land. Give these Houthi filth a chance to have something to eat and stuff themselves. They want the same medicine that was given to Hamas and Hezbollah... well, give it to them, Bibi, wrapped in gift paper.

  3. I cannot understand how it is possible that missiles fired by the Houthi terrorist murderers could reach Israel, if they warned that they would do so, which means that the IDF was prepared to intercept them.
