La Delegación de Asociaciones Israelitas Argentinas (DAIA) warned in its annual report on anti-Semitism in the country that in 2023 there was a 44% increase in reports of anti-Semitic demonstrations and that they were particularly intensified after the attack by the Islamic terrorist group Hamas against Israel on October 7.

According to the report, a total of 2023 complaints were filed in 598, of which almost 60% occurred between October and December, following the massive Hamas attack and the Israeli military response in the Gaza Strip.

The document was presented in the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires, which is the district with the most reported incidents in the entire country, by the president of the DAIA, Jorge Knoblovits, together with the dean of the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Jorge Biglieri.

"There was a significant rise in Judeophobia in universities and anti-Zionist rhetoric increased by 380 percent compared to 2022, across the country," the organization said in a statement.

Of the total number of complaints registered during the year, 65% were for "events that occurred in the digital space", mainly on the Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) platforms, while the remaining 35% occurred in "the physical space".

In addition, 18% required administrative procedures to reverse or stop the aggression and only 5% constituted legally reportable events, DAIA detailed, while 64% were recorded for qualitative and quantitative analysis, because their characteristics did not allow for other types of actions.

The massacre by the Palestinian Islamic terrorist group in communities in Israeli territory left some 1.200 dead while around 250 people were kidnapped and taken to the Gaza Strip as hostages.

In response, the Israel Defense Forces launched a strong counteroffensive against Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist organizations that control the population of the enclave.

"In various countries, protests against the existence of the State of Israel have multiplied, manipulating public opinion with unsubstantiated information accusing the victims of being the perpetrators. At the same time, levels of anti-Jewish hatred have increased," Knoblovits said at the presentation of the report.

"Unfortunately, anti-Jewish racism, although it had never disappeared, emerged from its apparent latency without euphemisms," he added, and stressed that "far from generating reactions of stupor and condemnation," they have observed "in many cases, with honourable exceptions and with deep pain, indifference and the increase of an anti-Semitism 'justified' in anti-Zionism."

  1. It is not only from 7/10, it began to worsen with the arrival of Milei and her supposed interest in converting to Judaism with the help of Lubovich, it is also worth mentioning that the DAIA and the AMIA are presided over by people who are almost ultra-right allied with Macri and that also causes irritation, and now in the next DAIA elections, Milei wants to get involved by putting forward as a candidate the largest real estate developer, who from Macrismo has been "getting" million-dollar lands with exemptions from the urban code in his favor
