An investigation published by the digital information portal 'Fanpage' reveals the anti-Semitic and racist insults and fascist greetings that circulate among the members of 'National Youth', the youth organization of the Brothers of Italy, the party of the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni.
The investigation shows videos and content of the chat conversations of members of the Brothers of Italy youth who work as assistants for party deputies such as Elisa Segnini, head of the secretariat of the deputy Ylenia Lucaselli, who assures that she has not left of being "racist and fascist"
The president of the 'National Youth' of Pinciano, a neighborhood in Rome, Flaminia Pace, also appears, mocking the senator of the Brothers of Italy Ester Mieli, Jewish and daughter of a Holocaust survivor.
As a result of this event, Pace announced his resignation for "personal reasons" and members of the Brothers of Italy expressed their solidarity with Mieli.
The president of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa, described the attacks on Mieli as "unacceptable sentences by some militants of the National Youth."
The organizational director of Brothers from Italy, John Donzelli, expressed in a note "that there is no room in Brothers of Italy for racists, extremists and anti-Semites."
"The phrases heard in videos released today that show members of our party using language incompatible with the reference values of our political movement are unacceptable, despite the ways in which they were captured and disseminated," added Donzelli.
'Fanpage' highlighted that Meloni remains silent while messages of indignation arrived from all opposition parties.
«The 'Fanpage' investigation opened the Pandora's box of fascism that lives in the underworld of the Brothers of Italy. Homophobia, racism, nostalgia for Benito Mussolini, sympathies for Adolf Hitler and Nazism, anti-Semitism that even leads them to attack one of his undersecretaries: the silence of Giorgia Meloni "Until now it has been deafening and now it becomes a real assent," wrote the secretary of +Europe, Riccardo Magi on the social network X.
The spokesman in the Senate of the largest formation in the opposition, the Democratic Party (PD), Francesco Boccia, also asked that the prime minister clarify her position and stressed that "it is not possible that there is room, in the party that represents the head of the Italian government, for those who refer to the Duce, anti-Semitism and racism.
