The Hungarian company BAC Consulting, which has been identified as the manufacturer of the Hezbollah group's pagers that exploded on Tuesday, is an entity founded in 2022, with a single employee and which in 2023 had profits of 46.396 euros, three times more than the previous year.
BAC Consulting, which operates as a limited liability company, according to the business information website companywall.hu, was founded in Budapest in 2022 and has a headquarters there.
In its first year of operation, the company's turnover was 668.309 euros, while in 2023 it dropped to 545.558.
Despite this drop in revenue, the company tripled its profits from €14.630 in 2022 to €46.396 in 2023.
The independent portal Telex.hu reports that BAC's headquarters are located in a building that houses various entities.
The company, according to its website, is involved in a wide range of activities, from newspaper publishing to oil, sugar manufacturing and IT services.
The Taiwanese company Gold Apollo, the owner of the brand of the pagers that exploded, has stated that it gave BAC the use of the brand and that it was the Hungarian company that designed and manufactured the devices.
The American television channel NBC News was able to speak with the manager and owner of BAC, Cristina Bársony-Arcidiacono, who denied having manufactured the pagers, according to the website 444.hu.
“I don’t make pagers, I’m just a middleman. Something must have been misinterpreted,” Bársony-Arcidiacono said.
In any case, shortly after the press pointed to BAC as the possible manufacturer of the devices, the entity blocked its website, which is currently impossible to access.
