Israeli physicist breaks record by reciting 25.333 decimal places of Pi

Yehuda Ashkelon is an Israeli theoretical physicist who this week achieved a new record in Israel, managing to recite 25.333 decimal places of the mathematical constant Pi (π).

His feat, which took place at Ben-Gurion University, places him ninth in the world and sets a new record for reciting Pi in Spanish. To achieve this record, Ashkelon had to recite the sequence of numbers for six hours and 28 minutes, without errors, far surpassing the previous record in Spanish, which was 20.000 decimal places.

The event was attended by mathematicians and academics, who verified their achievement on the eve of Pi Day, celebrated on March 14.

Ashkelon recounted that his fascination with Pi began in Spain, where he lived for several years, and explained that his technique is not based on mechanical repetition, but on structuring numbers into visual patterns and narratives.
