Born Matthew Paul Miller, Matisyahu is a rap and reggae singer of Jewish descent. Recently, the American musician reported that he will give a benefit show in Tel Aviv on January 19. It will be an acoustic evening that seeks to collaborate with the organization BringThemHomeNow, which since the October 7 attack has been working to ensure that all the hostages return home

The renowned American rap and reggae singer of Jewish descent, Matisyahu, will join the demonstrations of solidarity with the families of the hostages in Gaza during the war against Hamas. The artist will hold a charity show in Tel Aviv next week, in collaboration with the organization BringThemHomeNow, which advocates for the release of hostages held in the region.

The musician showed, throughout his career, a commitment to his Jewish identity and an active participation in issues related to Israel. The war with Hamas is no exception. From the beginning of the conflict Matisyahu demonstrated his support for Israel, and was also very critical of other artists who decided to remain silent and not take a public position on what is happening in the Middle East.

In a recent interview, the musician expressed that “for those who are too afraid to speak out, or who delete posts for fear of losing followers and part of their fame or position, I have to say that I feel for you.”
