Saturday night, Lionel MessiHe returned to the field after an injury that kept him out of some Inter Miami matches and also the first qualifying matches with the Argentine national team.

The footballer once again wore his team's pink shirt against Philadelphia Union, in a match that ended with a 3-1 victory for Martino's team.

What did not go unnoticed by some fans was a yellow ribbon on Messi's arm. Many people, especially Israelis, believed that it was a gesture of solidarity with the hostages kidnapped by Hamas on October 7.

Of the 97 abducted by Hamas militants, 251 are believed to still be in Gaza. Of that total, the Israeli military has confirmed that 33 died in captivity.

However, Inter Miami representatives later clarified that it was a show of support for the “Kick Childhood Cancer” campaign, which seeks to raise awareness about childhood cancer during the month of September.
