Heroes for Life is a non-governmental organization founded in 2013 by three Israel Defense Forces officers who had served together in the Duvdevan military unit for eight years.

They then embarked on a trip to the Far East, after which they decided to create an organization to transform Israeli students' vacations into volunteer work.

Organized by the Israeli branch of the World Jewish Congress (WJC), a delegation of volunteers from the organization carried out outstanding charitable work in the Argentine towns of Pilar and San Miguel.

On the one hand, they worked on renovating local schools to improve their facilities and teaching English and mathematics to the children of the community, but they also generated a deep human bond with the students, sharing games, stories and knowledge about culture and life in Israel.

Tal, a member of the WJC Israel Executive Committee, said after accompanying the audience that “although it is a volunteer project, we work hard every day to renovate the spaces and prepare the classes. The joy of the children when they saw us was our greatest reward.”

For his part, Saar, one of the participants, said that “the privilege of helping is indescribable. Coming here, contributing to the community and receiving so much love fills our souls, especially after such a difficult year.”
