A Jewish tennis player who won two Grand Slams died

Richard Sevitt, renowned Jewish tennis player, died at the age of 95. He is the only athlete from the Jewish community to obtain two Grand Slam titles in the history of tennis.. He raised both in 1951.

The former athlete died in New York, United States, and was very followed by Israeli tennis. A frequent visitor to Israel, experts in the field considered him the best Jewish tennis player in history..

Sevitt was born on March 4, 1927 in New Jersey. The writer Sandra Harwitt wrote the following in one of her books: “A lover of all sports, tennis was not even initially on Savitt's radar, who dedicated himself to basketball and baseball with passion”.
